Teen Bookbinding Workshop

Ages: youth 11-14 (Middle School Level) Young Teens
Are you an aspiring writer or artist? Or just love books? Join HPC instructor Katherine Nicholson for a bookmaking workshop. Katherine will guide you through designing and creating two small journals or sketchbooks. Participants will create both a “Hidden Book” with a secret fold that can put twists into any story or surprises for any sketches, and a small blank book with your own personalized printed cover and a beaded binding for your own personal sketching and journaling. Facilitated by Katherine Nicholson.
Parent or guardian permission required to participate.
Instructor bio:
Katherine Nicholson is a printmaker and a book artist. She earned her Master of Fine Art in printmaking at Arizona State University and her Bachelor of Fine Art in sculpture and printmaking at Washington University in St. Louis. As an educator, she has taught fine art courses at numerous institutions and arts centers around the country, including Arizona State University. Currently she teaches art full time at Kingswood-Oxford School in West Hartford, CT
