Membership Application

In order to be eligible for membership, you must have completed a minimum of 3 press-based classes or workshops at HPC, or have equivalent print background (we will consider classes at other studios and college in place of this requirement.)

You must able to work independently, follow safety standards, and have good clean up habits.

You must be able to receive studio communications via email.

New members must complete HPC’s safety training before attending an open studio or signing up for press time.

Failure to follow safety standards and/or repeated poor studio manners will result in termination of membership.

Membership Pricing

$120 / month-to-month*
$345 / 3 month membership
$630 / 6 month membership
$1140 / 1 year membership

*month-to-month requires a minimum of 30 days notice for cancellation

Membership opens May 2025. Applications accepted beginning March 2025. You will not be charged until your agreed upon start date.

Membership includes:

Access to our 1500 sq.ft. studio space during monitored open studio times. Our space includes with a main work area with a Vandercook Universal 1 Press, two tabletop etching presses, and large work tables. There are three smaller studios, including a book bindery with a book press (nipping press), a digital printing room, and platen press room.*

Members also receive a flat file drawer to store work in our studio, ability to sign up press time, and 15% off all workshops and classes.

Basic supplies (ink, clean-up supplies) are included in the cost of membership. Members will need to supply their own blocks, plates, paper, etc.

*For the safety of our members, platen presses are for in-class use only at this time.

Sliding Scale

We keep our membership costs as low as possible while still covering the cost of consumable supplies and studio overhead. If you are interested in membership but the cost is prohibitive, we invite you to fill out our sliding scale application. The number of sliding scale memberships we can support is limited, so please only apply if you cannot afford to pay in full.
